Myriam Seers
Myriam Seers is an international arbitration practitioner and independent arbitrator with 17 years of experience, based in Toronto, Canada. She is a co-founding partner in Agora International LLP, a boutique international disputes law firm, which she co-launched after spending most of her career in the commercial litigation and international disputes departments of major Canadian business law firms Torys and McMillan.
As a member of the Arbitration Place NextGen roster of arbitrators, Myriam regularly sits as an independent arbitrator, both in international and in domestic Canadian cases. She is the current Chair of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee, and is ranked for dispute resolution in Chambers Global, Chambers Canada and Who's Who Legal. In 2020, Myriam founded English for Lawyers, a legal English consulting company aimed at helping lawyers from around the world excel at using English for professional purposes. English for Lawyers publishes content, delivers workshops and training, and provides legal document translation, ghostwriting and editing services. Arbitration in Translation is run through English for Lawyers Consulting Inc.
Myriam studied law at the University of Ottawa; legal translation, jurilinguistics, political science and philosophy at McGill University; and translation and teaching English as a foreign language at the University of Toronto. Her main academic research interests, which she is pursuing through graduate work at McGill, are studying how arbitral tribunals and courts grapple with understanding, interpreting and applying translated foreign law and translated or interpreted evidence. She is also a member of the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en juritraductologie, a research centre focused on interdisciplinary research in legal translation, and more generally on the intersection between language and law.
Myriam works in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, and is currently learning German and Mandarin Chinese. She is certified in French-to-English translation by the American Translators Association.

Nicole Fenwick
Nicole Fenwick is a British lawyer-linguist and legal translator with ten years of experience in cross-border legal work and translation, specialising in French and Spanish into English legal translation. She is the face behind Coley Translates and is a qualified member of the Institute of Translating and Interpreting and the Chartered Institute of Linguists. She is also a Chartered Linguist and qualified to provide French to English certified translations for official purposes in the UK and abroad.
Nicole studied English Law with French Law and Language at the University of Leicester in the UK and a Master’s in Translation Studies at Durham University in the UK, where she specialised in French to English legal translation.
She is based in Barcelona.

Eliza Graham
Eliza Graham is a Portuguese- and Spanish-to-English translator certified by the American Translators Association, with 30 years of combined translation and corporate experience. She specialises in legal, financial, and business translations, financial and business writing, ghostwriting, and she has a particularly keen eye for copyediting.
Eliza has a Master’s Degree in International Management from Thunderbird – The School of Global Management, and a BA in Spanish and Economics. Prior to becoming a full-time translator, she worked in business development for an electricity company in Houston, TX, transferring to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she lived for six years.
During that time she ran the Brazilian company’s Investor Relations department, spearheaded the project to list the company’s ADR on the New York Stock Exchange, and coordinated rating agency visits.
She is based in Colorado, USA.
Jessica Rado
Jessica is a litigation and arbitration lawyer based in New York, USA. A language enthusiast at heart, Jessica has cultivated her passion for foreign languages since her high school days in Venice, Italy, and through her law studies.
Jessica pursued her JD degree at the University of Padova, Italy, writing a graduate thesis in private comparative law written in English and Italian, and received her LL.M. degree in International Dispute Resolution from Fordham Law School in New York.
A native Italian speaker, Jessica works in Italian, English, French, and Spanish, as well as basic-level German.
She is based in New York City.

Stella Plant
Stella Plant is our junior consultant and polyglot-in-residence. Through her work first as an intern and now as a consultant for English for Lawyers, she has over a year of experience preparing first drafts of legal translation and researching legal terminology from a wide range of civil- and common-law jurisdictions.
Stella graduated from the University of Manchester with a First Class Combined Honours degree in Business Management and Spanish, with distinction in Spoken Spanish.
She was born in Rome, Italy, but lived in France during her high school years, so has been educated at various stages in Italian, French and English.
As part of the business management side of her degree, Stella had valuable exposure to economics, trend analytics, market and business analysis and the development of detailed business plans.
As part of the Spanish side of her degree, Stella had the opportunity to spend a transformative year at the University of Sevilla, Spain. There she was immersed in local culture, studied the variations of Spanish across Latin America and the history of Andalusia.
Stella works in English, French, Italian and Spanish, as well as intermediate-level German.
She is based in Gex, France.
